About Kindled

Our story: hand-poured soy candles from La Paz, Iloilo City

It started with one jar on a rainy night.

Kindled began in a small kitchen in Iloilo City — one pot of soy wax, a secondhand thermometer, and a scent we couldn't stop chasing: ripe mango and warm vanilla, like merienda at Lola's house.

Our Story

Small batches, poured in La Paz, on purpose.

That first jar wasn't for selling. It was for a rainy-season apartment that needed to smell like somewhere loved. Friends asked for one, then their friends did, and somewhere between the tenth pour and the hundredth we admitted this was a business — a very small one, and we intend to keep it that way.

Every candle is still made the same way: wax melted in one pot, temperature checked twice, fragrance stirred in by hand, wicks centered one jar at a time, labels pressed by thumb. Small batches mean your candle was poured days ago, not found at the back of a stockroom.

Salamat gid sa pagsuporta.

Why Kindled

Four promises in every jar.

  • Clean-burning soy

100% soy wax and cotton wicks — no petroleum, no black soot on your walls. The full science is in our soy wax guide.

  • Scents from home

Mango, sampaguita, sea air, tablea — every blend is a small love letter to Iloilo. No copied perfume-brand dupes.

  • Reusable jars

When the wax is done, the jar isn't. Rinse and reuse it — or return it on your next order for ₱20 off.

  • Made to order

Poured fresh in small batches, so nothing sits on a shelf for months losing its scent throw.

How It's Made

How we make every candle at our La Paz studio

Five steps, done by hand, a few jars at a time. This is the part a factory candle skips.

  1. Melt

Pure soy wax melted slowly in one pot, temperature checked twice. Soy scorches if you rush it.

  2. Scent

Fragrance stirred in by hand at the right heat, so it binds to the wax instead of flashing off. More on what goes in, in our soy wax guide.

  3. Pour

Poured around a cotton wick that's centred and held one jar at a time, so it burns evenly to the edge.

  4. Cure

Left to set and cure before it leaves the studio, so the scent comes through in full when you light it.

  5. Label & wrap

Wick trimmed, label pressed by thumb, wrapped for La Paz pickup or delivery.

Meet the Maker

The people behind Kindled

Kindled is a home studio in Nabitasan, La Paz, not a factory and not a reseller. The same hands that melt the wax answer your Messenger chats, blend the scent for your wedding batch, and wrap your order for pickup.

That's why we can tell you exactly what's in each jar, why a first burn matters, and which scent suits a small Iloilo bedroom versus a big sala. Ask us anything. A real person replies, usually the same day.

The Names

Every scent is a place.

We name candles the way Ilonggos give directions — by memory. (Choosing between them is what the scent guide is for.) Calle Real is downtown's old street in vanilla and tobacco. Guimaras Gold is the mango island next door. Sampaguita Sunday smells like garlands outside mass; Hablon like Miagao's handwoven cloth, sun-dried. Gab-i sa Baybay is a night at the beach, and Tsokolate is Lola's batirol on a rainy morning.

If you're far from home, that's rather the point. Light one and you're back.

Come smell what we mean.

Six scents, ₱280 to ₱650, poured this week in La Paz.
